During last a couple of years of doing mentoring for startups, I think more than 90% of the startups that I know of, started the marketing and engage with potential customer too late. Unless it is a hobby, treat your business as a business, spend at least 30% of your time to engage with the potential customer, start the sales and marketing BEFORE you have a product or service, most of your iteration or agile goal should be based on the early adopter’s feedback.
Customer-centric should be in the DNA of the company, one of my investor friends only invest in the company that has a good customer acquisition plan.
Of course, if you already have the customers, go back talk with them and ask them what they like and what they don’t like about your product or service. CALL EVERY SINGLE ONE of them.
